Met up with my mate Yaz from the Golan Heights. He now lives in Spain studying Flamenco guitar. It was great seeing him again. The last time I saw him was in his home in the Golan Heights where I performed in a bar called ‘Why’ which is right there on the Syrian border. Yaz and I and our mutual Terez Sliman met in Belfast 5 years ago at a gig in the Crescent Arts Centre. To see him again was just fantastic - all thanks to Matt McGinn’s great project in Black Mountain Studio called ‘Lessons of War’. Got a chance to be part of this project with Yaz and Matt. I’m chasing up some details to see when this might hit the streets.
